Nearly three months have passed since Tiger Woods offered an update on his physical condition and there’s still no word on when he’ll play again.
Mark Steinberg, Woods’s agent, offered ESPN no hint Friday about Woods’s rehabilitation and return to the sport.
“There is no timetable for this, and that’s been the hardest mind-set adjustment is that I don’t know,” Woods, who turned 40 in December, said in a Dec. 1 press conference. “So where is the light at the end of the tunnel? I don’t know, so that’s been hard.”
Woods, who made only 11 starts last season and missed the cut three times in majors, has had back surgery three times in less than two years. He hasn’t been seen in a tournament since the Wyndham Championship last August, but his caddie, Joe LaCava, isn’t looking for other work.
“I still have faith he’s going to continue to do well and win,” LaCava told ESPN recently. “My thought is he will overcome the injury or whatever you want to call it. He might not be able to play as often as he would like. Once he’s healed from this, he’ll come back and play again and play well. My outlook is basically the same as when I started with him. He’s Tiger Woods.”
