This year marks 20 years of restaurant week in Dallas-Fort Worth. Restaurant week takes place every August and during the celebration, 20 percent of every meal goes to either Lena Pope Home in Tarrant County or the North Texas Food Bank in the Dallas area, depending on the restaurant’s location.
According to an article done by CBS DFW, “since its creation by KRLD NewsRadio 1080 in 1997, the event has raised millions for its local charity partners, including nearly $700,000 raised in 2016 alone.”
