Haltom city’s Elixir Kitchen is hosting a monthly cooking class series for kids. There will be division based on age group, and classes will be offered throughout the day. To start the classes will be offered once a month but the organization hopes to expand to twice a month, and tickets will be $25-$30.
The 10 a.m. class will be offered to 5-7 year olds, and will cover sanitation in the kitchen and age-appropriate desserts and other meals.
The noon class will be offered to 8-12 year olds, and will cover knife handling, kitchen sanitation and cooking with heat.
The 2 p.m. class will be offered to 13-17 year olds, and will cover sanitation in the kitchen, cooking and baking with heat and meal prep.
Each class will build on the previous one so children are encouraged to attend multiple classes.
