Acme Brick Names Katie Hitt Deaton Director of Marketing

FORT WORTH, Texas — Acme Brick Company has named Katie Hitt Deaton as its Director of Marketing, effective July 1, 2026. She leads marketing strategy and execution for the Acme Brick corporate brand and more than 50 sales and manufacturing locations.

Deaton joined Acme Brick in August 2024 to lead social media, where she expanded the company’s digital presence and helped elevate brand storytelling across channels. In her role as Director of Marketing, she oversees integrated marketing strategy, content and communications, creative production, and performance efforts—partnering closely with sales and operations teams to support customers and business growth.

“Katie brings strong strategic leadership and a clear understanding of how customers and partners engage with the Acme Brick brand,” said John Brewer, Vice President of Sales. “She has strengthened the connection between marketing and sales across our locations, and we’re excited to see that momentum continue.”

Deaton previously served as Managing Director at the Dallas Architecture and Design Exchange (AD EX). She also spent 10 years at the Dallas chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as

Director of Communications and Government Relations. At AIA Dallas she led communications, public relations, advocacy, and awards while serving as the Managing Editor of the chapter magazine.

Deaton has received recognition at the local, state, and national levels, including the AIA Fort Worth President’s Award (2025), AIA National Associates Award (2024), Texas Society of Architects Associate Member of the Year (2023), AIA Dallas Associate Member of the Year (2020), and the AIA Dallas Presidential Citation (2014, 2020, 2024).

She continues to contribute to the profession and industry through leadership and service. Her roles include Founding Chair of the AIA Fort Worth K–12 Outreach Committee, Chair of the Texas Brick Council, and membership in AIA’s national K–12 Integrating Design Education through Architecture (IDEA) Advisory Group. Her past service includes the Greater Dallas Planning Council board and the City of Dallas Development Advisory Board.

Katie Deaton holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from Texas A&M University. She has presented at national, regional, and local conferences on marketing, grassroots advocacy, and K–12 outreach. Katie is only Acme’s fourth Director of Marketing in the last 48 years!
