Bonds Ellis Eppich Schafer Jones LLP is proud to announce that David Garza has joined the firm as a partner, further strengthening its business litigation and trial capabilities. David joins Bonds Ellis from Winstead PC’s Fort Worth office, where he represented clients in complex commercial disputes, fiduciary duty litigation in both the probate and closely held business context, and high-stakes contract cases in state and federal courts across Texas. His practice includes trial work and arbitration, with a focus on helping businesses navigate challenging disputes with strategic clarity and practical judgment.
David was the highest-ranking graduate from the Texas Tech business school, where he graduated in three years while also playing for the Texas Tech baseball team. He earned his law degree with honors from The University of Texas School of Law and has built a reputation for navigating complex business disputes with confidence and integrity. David began his professional career doing business valuation work at one of the big four accounting firms, where he developed a strong foundation in financial analysis and business operations. That business background continues to inform his litigation approach, enabling him to understand not only the legal issues at stake but also the financial and operational realities his clients face.
“David brings the kind of experience and judgment that fits perfectly with who we are as a firm,” said Roland “Rollie” Schafer, a founding partner at Bonds Ellis. “He has handled sophisticated, high stakes matters at a large firm level, but he also understands the importance of being accessible and responsive to clients. That combination of big-firm training and personal commitment to service is exactly what our clients value.”
Deeply rooted in the Fort Worth community for nearly two decades, David’s wife works with special education students at Fort Worth Independent School District, and together they have three children. Their oldest son currently attends Texas A&M University, and they have twin daughters that are active at Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth. His strong commitment to family, education, and community reflects the values that define the firm. “I’m honored to join Bonds Ellis and to work alongside such a talented and respected group of attorneys,” said Garza. “The firm’s reputation for excellence, combined with its collaborative and client-first culture, makes this an exciting next chapter.”
