Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County (BGCGTC)
was be handed the keys to some fancy new wheels this week, when representatives from Chevrolet
deliver a 2025 Chevrolet Suburban LT Texas Edition to the North Fort Worth branch, 2000 Ellis Ave., at
4:00 p.m. on December 9, 2024.
The surprise donation, announced during the MLB All-Star Week in July 2024, is part of Chevrolet’s
national collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The donation was received by BGCGTC
Youth of the Year candidates and other Club members, who will also have the honor of being the first to
take a ride in the new vehicle.
Manufactured at the General Motors assembly plant in Arlington, the sterling metallic gray Suburban has
black leather interior and sports a panoramic sunroof along with three rows of seating. Club leaders say
it will allow BGCGTC to offer an elevated experience for youth, donors, and community partners.
“This wonderful gift will be used to transport our Youth of the Year candidates to a wide range of
development opportunities such as public speaking, college visits, and workforce engagement activities,”
said Daphne Barlow Stigliano, CEO and president. “It will also allow us to bring potential donors and
partners to Clubs across Fort Worth and Arlington so they can experience first-hand the impact we are
making on the lives of young people in those communities.”
Stigliano says the Chevy Suburban’s suite of standard safety features will be especially valuable for
traveling with young people to conduct advocacy efforts in Austin and provide other life-enriching
experiences.
