Girls Inc. of Tarrant County hosted a celebratory signing day Friday evening for 20 young women embarking on a transformative journey in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The event, aptly named Eureka! Signing Day, marks the official commitment of these soon-to-be 8th graders to the Eureka! program. This free, five-year initiative empowers girls to explore the exciting world of STEM through hands-on activities, mentorship, and real-world experiences.
The Eureka! program fosters a nurturing, all-girl environment where girls feel empowered to be Strong, Smart, and Bold.
Throughout the program, participants will:
Engage monthly in STEM-related learning sessions and personal development and leadership activities during the school year.
Participate in a one-week summer camp (rising 8th-11th grade).
Embark on field trips and career panels focused on diverse STEM fields.
Gain valuable college and career readiness knowledge and guidance.
Access opportunities for internships and scholarships.
