FunkyTown Food Project is proud to announce the appointment of Stacy Agee Martin as its first Development Director, bringing almost two decades of nonprofit leadership, fundraising expertise, and creative vision to the organization’s mission of nourishing community through food, education, and connection.
Martin joins FunkyTown Food Project after an accomplished tenure at Fortress Youth Development
Center, where she most recently served as Executive Director. During her time there, she led
transformative growth, including a 140% increase in organizational budget, the cultivation of more than
$12 million in grant funding, and the expansion of programs serving hundreds of young people and
families. Her background also includes extensive experience in donor engagement, communications,
event production, and brand development, all skills that will play a key role in advancing FunkyTown
Food Project’s mission.
“Stacy brings an exceptional combination of strategic insight, creativity, and heart,” said Kent
Bradshaw, Executive Director of FunkyTown Food Project. “Her deep understanding of nonprofit
development, paired with her passion for community-driven work, makes her a tremendous addition to
our team. We are thrilled to welcome her as we continue to grow and deepen our work in the
community.”
This salary is made possible through a two-year commitment from the Thomas M., Helen McKee, and
John P. Ryan Foundation, The Edaren Foundation, and Danny Phillips, enabling FunkyTown Food
Project to invest in leadership infrastructure that will sustain and grow its mission. In her role, Martin
will focus on advancing FunkyTown Food Project’s fundraising strategy by strengthening brand
awareness, building donor and partner relationships, and supporting long-term sustainability efforts.
“I thrive in environments where strategy, creativity, and community-building come together to
strengthen mission impact,” said Martin. “This organization embodies what I believe makes
communities thrive – people coming together around food, dignity, and shared purpose. I am honored to
join FunkyTown Food Project at this critical stage of growth and am so excited to help expand its impact
and ensure its work continues to grow sustainably for years to come.”
FunkyTown Food Project is a Fort Worth–based nonprofit dedicated to advancing food justice through
hands-on education, youth leadership, and community connection. Housed at Conundrum Farms – a
working urban farm – the organization engages high school students in paid leadership experiences
where they learn to grow, prepare, and share fresh food while building skills, confidence, and pathways
to future success. Through its work, FunkyTown Food Project strengthens community, develops young
leaders, and ultimately cultivates a more equitable and sustainable local food system.
