FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Goodwill North Central Texas announced today that its Goodwill Outlet, located at 2452 Mansfield Highway in Fort Worth, will host a Teacher Surplus Sale on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.. During the event, items will be sold for just 99¢ per pound to educators with a valid ID.
Educators can expect to find a wide variety of classroom and crafting supplies in the sale bins, including binders, glue, yarn, storage containers, markers, pens, seasonal decorations, educational games, and more. One row of bins will be reserved exclusively for educators from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., but the educator discount will be available storewide all day. The offer is open to anyone in the education field, including traditional schoolteachers, homeschool educators, and early childhood instructors.
“This is one of our favorite events of the year,” said Rosemary Cruz, Vice President of Retail Sales and Donated Goods at Goodwill North Central Texas. “We know how much teachers invest in their classrooms out of pocket, and this sale is our way of giving back. The Outlet experience is a treasure hunt, and we love seeing educators light up when they find something perfect for their students.”
The Goodwill Outlet, which opened in 2013, offers merchandise that didn’t sell during a five-week cycle in a Fort Worth-area Goodwill retail store or was deemed unsellable through traditional methods. Smaller items are typically sold at $1.89 per pound, while any individual item weighing seven pounds or more is sold for a flat $7. Many Outlet shoppers are resellers or DIYers looking for unique materials to repurpose.
As with all 27 Goodwill North Central Texas retail locations, proceeds from the Outlet support Goodwill’s mission of providing education, training and job placement to individuals with disabilities, the formerly incarcerated, people experiencing homelessness, at-risk youth and our veterans.
