CEO of Adair Eyeware
A trailblazer in the eyewear industry, Alyce Adair Jones has spent over four decades redefining luxury and craftsmanship in optical fashion. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Alyce’s path has been anything but conventional—her insatiable curiosity led her from earning a Bachelor of Science at Boston University to pursuing a Master’s in Criminology before ultimately following her true passion: the art of eyewear. After interning with an ophthalmologist, Alyce knew she had found her calling, leading her to establish Adair Eyewear in 1980, a now-iconic boutique that fuses timeless optical craftsmanship with cutting-edge style and innovation.
Under Alyce’s leadership, Adair Eyewear has become the premier destination for handcrafted, luxury eyewear in Fort Worth, catering to a refined clientele that values both impeccable design and unparalleled service. Her keen eye for fashion and dedication to excellence earned her a personal invitation to Denmark from Carl Lindberg, the designer behind the world’s leading titanium eyewear brand. She has traveled the globe—from Ghana to Paris to Milan—bringing the latest in high-fashion eyewear to Texas.
Despite the challenges of competing with industry giants and navigating an ever-changing marketplace, Alyce has remained independent, thriving on her ability to build lasting relationships with her clients and curate an elite selection of eyewear that reflects their individuality. Her expertise and business acumen have been recognized through numerous accolades, including the Madam C.J. Walker Award from the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce Women Influencing Business Award, and the Top 50 Tarrant County Women-Owned Businesses recognition.
Beyond her business, Alyce is a pillar of her community, serving on multiple boards, including the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, the Modern Art Museum, and the Tarrant County Education Foundation. A committed philanthropist, she actively contributes to organizations such as the Young Women’s Leadership Academy, the Tarrant Area Food Bank, and the Texas Women for the Arts (Legacy Member).
In addition to being a successful entrepreneur and community advocate, Alyce discovered a hidden talent later in life—painting. A thoughtful gift from her children led her to an art class, where she uncovered a deep passion for creativity. Her personal journey is one of resilience, reinvention, and inspiration. A proud mother to Melanie and Leonard, and doting grandmother to Halston Jones, Alyce has spent her life breaking barriers and uplifting others. As a 50-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, she continues to embody the values of service and excellence. From the red carpet to the boardroom, Alyce Adair Jones is a force of nature—a woman who not only sees the world through a visionary lens but also helps others see it in style.
