Jay Chapa to be sworn in as next Fort Worth city manager

Jesus “Jay” Chapa will be sworn in as Fort Worth’s next city manager at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Old City Hall, 200 Texas St. The regular City Council meeting will follow the swearing-in ceremony.

The ceremony and the Council meeting to follow will be broadcast live on FWTV.

Chapa will make history as Fort Worth’s first Hispanic city manager. He will oversee the municipality named the fastest-growing large city in the country, with Fort Worth having recently surpassed Austin as Texas’ fourth-largest city. Fort Worth has more than 7,400 employees and more than 8,100 authorized positions.
