Johnson County Nonprofits Band Together to Create Resource Database

From health and wellness to career guidance, Starting Point helps connect Johnson County residents with life-changing resources.

CLEBURNE, Texas – A coali0on of Johnson County nonprofits have launched Starting Point, an
online database of comprehensive community resources with contact informa0on for over 200 of government,
nonprofit, and faith-based agencies. Residents can visit www.startingpointjctx.com to access important
information addressing needs spanning from immediate healthcare and housing needs to long-term career
and mental health support.
“Starting Point will transform the way all members of our community access local resources, anytime – day or
night,” said Danielle Elliott, Executive Director of CASA of Johnson County.
To promote the website, Starting Point is hosting two launch events:

Starting Point was launched after The Center of Nonprofit Management and Johnson County conducted a
study that identified the disconnect between the County’s residents and their level of accessibility to the over
600 local nonprofits and their resources. Starting Point’s collaborative effort is comprised of a board of
directors from REACH Council, CASA Johnson County, Johnson County Child Welfare, Keene Church, Meals on
Wheels, Cleburne ISD, and the Johnson County Constable’s office.
“As a professional working in the community, we often see that the challenges people struggle with can often
be symptoms of larger issues. Starting Point is not only a resource for the community to use, but one that is
helpful for service providers, social workers and other case managers to identify local organizations to help
address the holistic picture,” stated Gracie Gray, Johnson County Coalition Coordinator for REACH Council.
In addition to the community database, Starting Point hosts helpful information and articles on topics like
physical and behavioral health, current children and family legislation, parenting guides, and more. Community
members can create an account and save information for future use, develop emergency plans, and coordinate
care.
Support for Starting Point comes from Texas Health Resources as part of the Community Impact Grant.
