The City of Fort Worth recently hired Lance Randall as the new economic development deputy director.
Randall is a trained economic development practitioner with 29 years of experience in the fields of economic development, community development, workforce development, housing, tourism, government relations and business management.
His expertise includes business recruitment, retention, expansion, site development, infrastructure improvements, tax incentives, new markets tax credits, industrial park development, and small- and minority business lending. As a political scientist, he has also worked for a Maryland state senator and several mayors in Macon, Georgia.
Randall was the director of constituent services for Rep. Sanford D. Bishop Jr., a member of the U.S Congress. He also held positions as a project manager at Macon Economic Development Commission, was vice president of existing industry at the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, and has held positions at the Seattle Office of Economic Development, Southeast Effective Development, and was executive director at the Black Business Association of Oregon.
He has won several awards, including: Crystal Eagle Award, Excellence in Business Development Leadership, Tabor 100.; Existing Industry Appreciation Award for Service to Existing Industry, Georgia Economic Developers Association; Robert B. Cassell Leadership Award, American Economic Development Council; and the 1995 Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Sanford D. Bishop Jr.
Randall graduated from Morgan State University in Baltimore with a degree in political science and from the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute.
