Accomplished culinary leader to oversee dining, banquet and catering operations across the luxury Cultural District property
The Crescent Hotel Fort Worth announces the appointment of Sean Malek as Executive Chef, elevating a respected culinary leader who has helped shape the property’s dining experiences since joining the hotel in 2024. In his new role, Malek will oversee all culinary operations across the luxury hotel, including Emilia’s, banquets, catering and in-room dining.
Since joining The Crescent Hotel Fort Worth as Executive Sous Chef in February 2024, Malek has played an instrumental role in building and developing the hotel’s culinary team while helping elevate both restaurant and banquet operations. As part of the hotel’s continued investment in its culinary program, acclaimed chef and restaurateur Toni Robertson serves as a culinary consultant. She came on board earlier this year, with Malek playing a key role in bringing that vision to life across the property’s dining experiences. Known for his collaborative leadership style and commitment to mentorship, he has helped cultivate a people-first culture centered on excellence, hospitality and professional growth.
With nearly 20 years of culinary experience, Malek brings a passion for ingredient-driven cooking, memorable guest experiences and fostering the next generation of culinary talent. Throughout his tenure at The Crescent, he has worked closely with teams across the property to strengthen the hotel’s culinary identity while building meaningful relationships within the Fort Worth community, including partnerships with the Culinary School of Fort Worth.
“Sean has been an invaluable member of our culinary leadership team and a driving force behind the guest experiences we deliver every day,” said Thomas Becker, Managing Director of The Crescent Hotel Fort Worth. “His commitment to mentorship, operational excellence and hospitality aligns perfectly with our vision for the property. We are thrilled to see him step into this role and continue elevating our culinary program.”
As Executive Chef, Malek will lead culinary strategy and menu development across the property while continuing to enhance the dining experiences that have become synonymous with The Crescent Hotel Fort Worth. His focus will include strengthening culinary operations, supporting team development and further establishing the hotel as a premier dining and hospitality destination within Fort Worth’s Cultural District.
“I look forward to continuing to build a strong team environment, mentoring future chefs and creating guest experiences that set us apart,” said Chef Malek. “What motivates me most is the family environment we’ve built together and the opportunity to continue growing what we’ve started. Between our outlets and banquet operations, we’re only scratching the surface of what’s possible. The best is yet to come.”
Among his proudest accomplishments at The Crescent Hotel Fort Worth is discovering a passion for mentorship and watching team members grow in their careers. He also takes pride in fostering strong cross-departmental partnerships and helping position culinary as a central component of the hotel’s overall guest experience.
