Trinity Metro shares winter storm services information

FORT WORTH, Texas — Trinity Metro is actively preparing for the potential impacts of an
upcoming winter storm in Fort Worth and North Texas, with safety remaining the agency’s
top priority for customers and team members.
Icy and snowy conditions can affect transit operations in different ways across Trinity
Metro’s system. During winter weather, TEXRail and Trinity Railway Express (TRE) trains,
as well as buses and On-Demand services, may operate at reduced speeds, which can
result in delays. Bus routes may also experience detours or temporary stop closures
based on street conditions. In more severe conditions, certain services — including rail,
buses, or on-demand services — may be reduced or temporarily suspended until
conditions improve.
“Our teams are closely monitoring weather conditions and preparing our system so we
can continue providing service as safely as possible,” said Reed Lanham, chief operating
officer of Trinity Metro. “While there are no plans at this time to reduce service, safety for
our customers and team members will always guide our decisions if conditions worsen.”
Trinity Metro encourages customers to plan ahead by allowing extra travel time, wearing
appropriate clothing for winter conditions, and checking for service updates before
heading out.

As conditions change, Trinity Metro will communicate service impacts and recovery
updates through multiple channels:

  • RideTrinityMetro.org/Weather, the agency’s weather and alerts page
  • GoPass app, where customers can view service alerts and trip information
  • Social media on X at @TrinityMetro
  • Customer Service, which can assist with trip planning and service information

    “If service adjustments become necessary — such as reduced frequency, early service
    endings, or temporary suspensions — we will communicate those changes as information
    becomes available,” Lanham said. “As conditions improve, we’ll also provide updates as
    services begin returning to normal.”
