Tarrant County Black Historical and Genealogy Society Welcomes Brittnee Thomas as New Executive Director of Lenora Rolla Heritage Center Museum

FORT WORTH, TEXAS — The Tarrant County Black Historical and
Genealogy Society (TCBHGS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Brittnee Thomas as
its new Executive Director, where she will lead operations and programming for the Lenora
Rolla Heritage Center Museum.

Thomas brings more than 17 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fund development,
and program development to the organization. She is recognized for her holistic approach to
organizational development, a leadership philosophy that has strengthened the capacity of
leaders, organizations, and community initiatives throughout her career.

“We are excited to welcome Brittnee Thomas to the Tarrant County Black Historical and
Genealogy Society and the Lenora Rolla Heritage Center Museum,” said Deborah Tate-Lewis,
Vice President of Programs and Operations. “Her extensive nonprofit experience, commitment to
community, and passion for developing people and organizations make her an excellent addition
to our team. We look forward to the vision and energy she will bring to the museum and the
preservation of Tarrant County’s rich Black history.

”Thomas earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Tarleton State University and an
Executive Master’s in Public Administration from Southern University Baton Rouge. She is
currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Policy and Public Administration at Walden University, further
expanding her expertise in public leadership, policy, and organizational development.

Her commitment to service extends well beyond her professional career. Thomas is actively
engaged with organizations and community initiatives that reflect her dedication to education,
leadership, service, and community advancement, including Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., the
Junior League of Fort Worth, Sisters in Higher Ed, B.R.I.D.G.E., Paths Forward, and
Greater New Hope Missionary Church.
These affiliations reflect Thomas’ deep-seated belief in the importance of giving back and
investing in the communities she serves.
