2 hurt when firetruck smashes into North Texas Dairy Queen

GREENVILLE, Texas (AP) — Investigators say two people have been hurt after a North Texas firetruck being returned to its department after servicing hit a Dairy Queen.

The Greenville Fire Department vehicle struck the restaurant in Farmersville on Wednesday morning.

A statement from the city of Greenville says the truck was being returned from a service center in Denton when the accident happened. Authorities are trying to determine what caused the firetruck to leave the road in Farmersville, about 15 miles west of Greenville.

The truck was being driven by a representative of the center when the accident happened, injuring the driver and a DQ patron. Officials say both suffered injuries not believed to be life threatening.
