72 pounds of heroin found at Dallas home

DALLAS (AP) — Federal authorities say they have found about 72 pounds of heroin at a house in south Dallas.

Court documents filed Thursday say 39-year-old Juan Jose Ontanon-Espinoza faces a federal drug charge and was taken into custody after he gave more than 6 pounds of heroin to a confidential source for the Drug Enforcement Administration.

A DEA criminal investigator wrote in an affidavit that Ontanon-Espinoza’s girlfriend reported they lived together, but he maintained another residence in Dallas and agreed to show them its location.

The agent reports investigators found about 72 pounds of heroin at the house, along with mail addressed to Ontanon-Espinoza. His defense attorney did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
