Armed suspect shot by Fort Worth police expected to survive

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Fort Worth police say an officer shot a suspect multiple times after he refused to drop his pistol when located by police after firing at an unoccupied, parked vehicle. The suspect was taken to a hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening.

Police say that on Saturday night officers responding to call at a restaurant found that the suspect had fired at the vehicle that following an argument between individuals.

Police say officers then went to the suspect’s home. As officers approached, the suspect emerged with a pistol and raised it. The suspect refused to drop the pistol and then was shot by one of the officers.

Fort Worth police are investigating the incident. The officer has been placed on administrative leave.
