Black-eyed Pea restaurant owners file bankruptcy

The owner of the Black-eyed Pea and Dixie House restaurants, Restaurants Acquisition I LLC of Arlington, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The company has closed 15 of its 30 stores over the past year. The Black-eyed Pea locations in Fort Worth, Hurst and Arlington are still in operation. 

The Black-eyed Pea concept was created by restauranteur Gene Street, who has also been involved with Good Eats Café, Cantina Laredo, III Forks and Cool River Café.
