Bush to host golf tournament for wounded veterans

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Former President George W. Bush will participate in the third annual Warrior Open golf tournament.

The George W. Bush Presidential Center is hosting the three-day tournament opening Thursday at the Las Colinas Country Club in northern Irving, just west of Dallas.

The 36-hole tournament will feature 24 wounded combat veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. They’ll play a round Thursday with Bush, pro golfers, celebrities and others before the competition begins in earned Friday.

The tournament is part of the George W. Bush Institute’s Military Service Initiative.
