Cowboys get tough, file suit over suite payments

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A Dallas Cowboys entity has sued financial personality Dawn Bennett for more than $1 million alleging she’s behind on lease payments for a suite at AT&T Stadium.

Cowboys Stadium LP on Wednesday filed the breach of contract lawsuit against Bennett, the CEO of Bennett Group Finance Services in Washington, D.C. She also hosts a nationally syndicated radio show called “Financial Myth Busting.”

Messages left for Bennett weren’t immediately returned Thursday.

The lawsuit filed in Fort Worth says Bennett in 2007 signed a 20-year contract for a Hall of Fame suite, which seats 12 to 20 guests. The lease is $500,000 annually.

The suit alleges Bennett has not made this year’s payment, plus only paid $200,000 in 2013. The lawsuit says Bennett paid the annual $500,000 fee from 2008 to 2012.
