Entrepreneur contest for military veterans coming in the fall

Entrepreneurs who have served in the military will have the chance to showcase their business ideas at an elevator pitch contest coming to Dallas in the fall.

An optional training for the Texas Veteran Entrepreneur’s Elevator Pitch (VEEP) contest takes place July 23 at 9 a.m. at the Dallas Central Library, 1515 Young St. The contest itself will begin Sept. 17, with the second round taking place Oct. 1 and a final round taking place Nov. 3 during lunch at the Texas Veterans Business Summit, also taking place at the library. Attendees at the conference will select the winner, who will receive $5,000 to help with his or her business.

Momentum Texas, a nonprofit organization that helps veterans in business, is hosting the contest.
