Fort Worth: early voting in May 10 elections begins April 28

A. Lee Graham

Early voting in the May 10 elections begins Monday April 28 and runs through Tuesday May 6.

Among Fort Worth ballot items is a $219 million bond package, which includes propositions to fund capital investments in neighborhoods, business districts and infrastructure.

Also on the ballot is continuing the city’s Crime Control and Prevention District. If approved, a half-cent sales tax would continue to help fund police and other departments through fiscal year 2020.

Meanwhile, six candidates are running for the City Council District 9 seat after Councilman Joel Burns stepped down from the role.

A list of early voting places and times, sample ballots and other election information is available at http://tcweb.tarrantcounty.com/evote/lib/evote/2014/may10/sched_14_may_.pdf

Voters must present an approved form of photo identification to vote in all Texas elections.
