Fort Worth, Irving officials find people held against their will in homes

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Officials are investigating after discovering people being held against their will in what were supposedly drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Ten men were arrested after authorities discovered the victims in homes in Irving and Fort Worth. Fort Worth police said Thursday that the treatment of those in the homes was “barbaric,” with victims often beaten, tied to chairs and feed one package of noodles a day.

The investigation began Tuesday, when Irving police responded after a caller reported seeing a man being chased by three others. Officers discovered the man had run away from the Irving home. As officials investigated they were told of a similar home in Fort Worth.

Fort Worth police say almost 30 victims were found in Irving, 11 in Fort Worth.
