In an effort to increase Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise utilization, the city of Fort Worth will be hosting monthly informational vendor forums.
There will be a bidders meeting and Q&A to discuss the MyH20 Water Meter Project request for quotation Thursday, July 20, at the James E. Guinn Entrepreneurial Campus Fort Worth Business Assistance Center, located at 1150 South Freeway.
According to an event listing, teams representing the city of Fort Worth and Aqua-Metric will be at the meeting to answer any questions. Additionally, all interested W/MBEs are encouraged to attend.
Thursday will be the last day to bid on fire extinguisher sales and services, traffic signal task order construction services, constrictions projects plan review, and bulk disposal and material.

The overall project involves Aqua Metric Sales Company’s AMI Integration contract with the city of Fort Worth to install more than 250,000 water meters and radios across the city and has a value of $73 million.
The city and Aqua Metric are seeking area W/MBE firms that have NCTRCA or TxDOT certifications and are interested in subcontracting on their project, which has an expected start for the second quarter of 2018.
The event posting asks that interested organizations consider their qualifications and ability to complete projects including but not limited to the following:
Drilling 2″ holes in existing meter lids
Vacuuming meter boxes
Installation and activation of Sensus SmartPoint radios
Capture work order data
Return old water meter to Aqua Metric Warehouse
Installation of residential water meters including the following work:
Notification to customer of disruption in service
Removal of existing water meters
Standard installation of Sensus SRII water meters (5/8″ to 1″)
Non-standard installation of water meters including the following:
Direct connects
Meter box resets/replacements
Installaton/removal of meter riser
Meter re-piping
Curb stop replacement
