Fort Worth takes a stand – and sit – approach to desks

VARIDESK

If you see some Fort Worth city officials just standing around, don’t worry, they’re working.

The City of Fort Worth as part of its commitment to employee health and wellness, on Sept. 19 accepted a donation of about 287 sit-stand desktops and accessories from VARIDESK Inc. valued at $150,000.

The desks are being used by several departments housed at City Hall: Mayor and City Council, City Manager, City Secretary, Performance & Budget, Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Law, Planning & Development, Transportation & Public Works and Water.

The VARIDESK sit-stand desktop is an award-winning unit that allows employees to easily change from sitting to standing at their workplace. Located in Coppell, VARIDESK has made a commitment to improving the wellness of workers by providing flexibility in how they perform tasks.
