Fort Worth to be in National Spotlight

C-SPAN reveals Fort Worth history and highlights authors during weeklong visit

Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, Visit Fort Worth and Spectrum will welcome C-SPAN to cowtown Monday, April 9, during a special event from 5:30-6:15 p.m. at the Stockyards Exchange Building, located at 131 E. Exchange Ave. in Fort Worth.

According to a news release, C-SPAN is visiting to record the history and non-fiction literary life of Fort Worth on it’s non-fiction book channel Book TV (on C-SPAN2) and history channel American History TV (on C-SPAN3) as part of it’s 2018 Cities Tour.

During their time in Fort Worth, C-SPAN producers will visit various literary and historic sites, interview local historians and non-fiction authors and conduct educational and community outreach in the area.

Local segments recorded during the week of April 8-12 will air on Book TV and American History TV on June 2-3 during a special feature Fort Worth weekend. C-SPAN is available in Fort Worth on Spectrum channels 25 and 732.

Those involved and who will speak at the April 9 event include Price, U.S. Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33), Visit Fort Worth CEO Bob Jameson, Torrey McGraw, Charter Communications Sr. Manager of Government Affairs, and C-SPAN Cities Tour Coordinating Producer Debbie Lamb.
