Friends Bookstore to close for good on Dec. 9

🕐 1 min read

Dec. 9 is the last day to visit the Friends Bookstore, located at 5332 Trail Lake Drive, according to a news release, as it will permanently close that evening.

During the brick and mortar’s final sale, all books and materials will be available for half price.

Although the Friends of the Library will no longer operate a bookstore, nearly all the inventory — including new acquisitions — will be available online, the release stated. In January, Friends of the Library will launch a new website that will include an online bookstore.

Beginning Dec. 1, five library locations will accept donations from individuals during normal operating hours.

These libraries will accept no more than two boxes of donations per customer each month:

— Central Library, 500 W. Third St.

— East Regional Library, 6301 Bridge St.

— Northside Branch Library, 601 Park St.

— Northwest Branch Library, 6228 Crystal Lake Drive.

— Southwest Regional Library, 4001 Library Lane.
