FWISD board elects new officers

The Fort Worth ISD Board of Education elected District 2 representative Tobi Jackson as president during the May 23, 2017, meeting. District 6 representative Ann Sutherland was elected first vice president; Christene C. Moss from District 3 was elected second vice president; and Anael Luebanos, the District 8 representative, was elected secretary.

Jackson is a lifelong resident of East Fort Worth who attended Eastern Hills Elementary, Meadowbrook Middle School, and graduated in 1978 from Eastern Hills High School. She earned a B.A. from The University of Texas at Arlington and an M.S. from the University of North Texas. She was elected to the board in 2010.

Sutherland, also elected in 2010, was first elected to the board in 2010. Her current term expires in 2019.

Moss, a registered nurse, attended Como Elementary through Como High School. She began her board service in 1990.

Luebanos was elected to the board this year to a term that will expire in 2021.
