Garland man identified as fatality in drug-related chase

GARLAND, Texas (AP) — A Garland man has been identified as the suspect who died in a traffic accident during a Dallas-area police chase linked to a drug investigation.

Garland police on Thursday said 32-year-old Jamarese DeAngelo Coleman was killed in the wreck.

Police say Coleman on Wednesday was driving an SUV being pursued by officers investigating a drug complaint. Coleman’s SUV was involved in a wreck at an intersection and he was ejected. Coleman died later at a hospital.

The other driver suffered minor injuries. A customer at a nearby auto parts store was slightly hurt after being hit by a tire than flew off the SUV.
