What’s better than a swanky 70th birthday party for an ex-prez? A doubleheader bash: Former president George W. Bush and former first lady Laura Bush celebrated jointly at a Lone-Star elegant bash at their ranch in Crawford, Texas, on Saturday, reports People magazine, which has the exclusive photos of the soiree.

The celebration was a split-the-difference one (his actual birthday was in July; hers is Nov. 4), but jointly, a big moment to celebrate – and so they did, with a huge see-through tent and pals including former commerce secretary Donald Evans, Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, and Ross Perot Jr., the son of former presidential candidate Ross Perot.

Music was by country singer George Strait, who serenaded the group with “Happy Birthday,” per People. Lots of rustic-chic details, but the (relaxed-looking) former president stuck to a no-jacket-required dress code, sporting jeans, a western-style shirt and a prominent belt buckle.
