Keller soldier dies of Afghan war wounds

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon has announced the death of a 29-year-old North Texas soldier in a roadside mining attack in Afghanistan.   A Defense Department statement on Monday identified the dead soldier as Staff Sgt. Alex A. Viola of Keller. It says he died in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked with an improvised explosive device while the unit was on dismounted patrol.   Viola was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.
