Athletic apparel and running shoe retailer Luke’s Locker field for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection late on Tuesday.
Last week, the Dallas-based retailer closed five stores in Plano, Sou9thlake, Austin, Houston and The Woodlands, laying off about 40 employees.
The company’s two Dallas stores and one Fort Worth location remain open.
On the company’s Facebook page, the company said “Luke’s has taken an important step in its plan to rebuild its business by filing a petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 this afternoon.”
