Man accused of killing 2 in Texas is arrested in Louisiana casino

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — A man accused of killing two people in Houston has been arrested in a Louisiana casino.

Louisiana State Police say Harris County homicide detectives got in touch with state police in Lake Charles on Wednesday, and troopers found 46-year-old Reymundo Luis Valdez in a casino the same day.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says Valdez is accused of shooting 54-year-old Ernesto Hull and 46-year-old Colette Depaz in their home on Sept. 6. A news release says their bodies were found through a welfare check about 9:30 p.m. that day.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Thomas Gilliland said in an email Thursday that investigators believe the motive was robbery of cash and illegal drugs.
