Man gets death for 2015 shooting death of Dallas dentist

DALLAS (AP) — A Dallas County jury has sentenced a 34-year-old man to death for the 2015 shooting death of a Dallas pediatric dentist.

Jurors deliberated for about three hours before condemning Kristopher Love on Wednesday in the death of 35-year-old Kendra Hatcher. The same jury convicted Love of capital murder Thursday.

Prosecutors say Love was hired to kill Hatcher, who was shot at her Dallas apartment complex in September 2015. They say Hatcher’s death was orchestrated by the former girlfriend of the man Hatcher was dating at the time.

The former girlfriend, Brenda Delgado, awaits trial on a capital murder charge. A third person, suspected getaway driver Crystal Cortes, pleaded guilty to murder and testified against Love in return for a 35-year prison sentence.
