Arlington orthodontist receives 2019 Humanitarian Award
The American Association of Orthodontists has named Dr. Moody Alexander of Drs. Alexander Orthodontics the recipient of its 2019 Humanitarian Award for his volunteer efforts locally and globally.
Besides creating numerous opportunities to serve his hometown of Arlington, Alexander and his wife, Emily, founded EthiopiaSmile to bring dental prevention and basic oral hygiene to underserved villagers in Dube Bute, Ethiopia, Alexander Orthodontics said in a news release.
The award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to change the quality of human life that extend beyond the usual scope of private orthodontic practice, academic functions or organized dentistry.
Alexander was nominated by the Southwest Society of Orthodontists and was to receive the award May 5 in Los Angeles.
“This award is an incredible honor. I am so proud of EthiopiaSmile and all the work we have done in the past 11 years,” Alexander said in the news release.
“I hope, too, that this recognition calls attention to the needs of others so we can engage even more friends, family and patients to join efforts and change lives for the better,” he said.
Alexander is involved in the Arlington community through the Alliance for Children, Gospel City Church, YoungLife Arlington, Pantego Christian Academy, Mission Arlington and the Humble Smile Foundation.
Drs. Alexander Orthodontics was founded in 1964 by Dr. R.G. “Wick” Alexander in Arlington. Moody Alexander joined the family’s practice in 1995.

Premier Bank Texas has added Julie McCray as mortgage banking officer. In her role, McCray is responsible for originating residential mortgage Loans in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. McCray joined Premier Bank Texas in April and has over 14 years of experience as a Realtor. She will office at the Premier Bank Texas Mortgage Center in Grapevine.
HONORS & AWARDS
The Texas Bankers Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Texas Bankers Association, honored Larry Kilgore and Larry Parks from American National Bank of Texas with the 50-Year Banker Award during TBA’s 135th Annual Convention on May 3 in Austin. The award honors bankers with a half century or more of service and dedication to the industry.
Kilgore, a Fort Worth resident, began his banking career as a proof/transit teller at Fort Worth National Bank while attending the University of Texas at Arlington. Following graduation, he continued to work at the bank until 1974, when he joined Mansfield State Bank. In 1981, he was made president, CEO and director of the bank. He was president of Southwest Bank in Fort Worth from 1991 to 2007. In 2010, he joined American National Bank of Texas, where he recently retired as a senior vice president.
Parks, a Rockwall resident, began his banking career in 1969 as a part-time bookkeeper, teller and assistant to the cashier at First National Bank in Memphis. He then worked for the OCC from 1970-72 before returning to the bank as an assistant vice president. In 1981, he was promoted to president/CEO of First National Bank and was in that position when the bank was sold in 1983. Parks served as president of both First State Bank of Rockwall and Citizens State Bank in Royse City. In December 1989, he moved to American National Bank of Texas as a senior vice president. He retired in 2017 but continues to serve on the board of the bank.
LAW
Jackson Walker has announced the addition of Joseph P. Regan and Adam L. Plumbley to the trial and appellate litigation practice in Fort Worth. Both have backgrounds in energy and eminent domain.
Regan received his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from The University of Texas at Arlington and his law degree from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. He served as a briefing attorney for Justice Douglas S. Lang of the Fifth District Court of Appeals in Dallas.
Regan is president of the board for The WARM Place, a grief support center for children and their families. He is a member of the Texas Bar College and has held leadership positions on the Tarrant County Bar Association’s board of directors and several of its committees.
Plumbley represents oil and gas producers, utilities, common carriers and midstream companies in all aspects of energy litigation, condemnation and eminent domain, and real property disputes. He also handles general commercial litigation, including product liability and financial services.
He received his law degree, cum laude, from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (Texas A&M University School of Law). He has a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Texas Christian University.
Plumbley is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association and the Eldon B. Mahon American Inn of Court. Previously, he volunteered with the board of directors of the Ladder Alliance and the March of Dimes Fort Worth Division.
