No Trump, but Texas megachurch hosting 6 GOP 2016 hopefuls

PLANO, Texas (AP) — Donald Trump won’t be in attendance, but there will be plenty at stake for six other Republican presidential contenders converging on a megachurch outside Dallas.

Set to address a presidential forum at the 40,000-member Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano on Sunday are tea party favorites Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum. All have strong evangelical support.

Also appearing will be former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina.

Fiorina saw a surge in the polls following her debate performances, while Bush has relied on strong fundraising. But both are looking to woo Christian conservatives, and could do so at the forum.
