Officer fatally shoots suspect in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Fort Worth police say an officer shot and killed a suspect as he accelerated toward another officer with his vehicle.

Police say the incident happened as authorities investigated a complaint of drug activity Monday at a house.

As a wanted felon backed out of the driveway, police vehicles pulled in front of and behind him.

The suspect then reversed the truck, accelerating backward and striking a plainclothes narcotics officer as she tried to dive out of the way. A uniformed officer fired at the suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
