KELLER, Texas (AP) — An elderly couple have been found fatally shot at a North Texas assisted living center and police are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide.
Keller police Capt. Brenda Slovak says officers responded Wednesday morning to reports of a wife and husband in their 90s discovered dead in their room. She says a staffer found the bodies after becoming concerned when the man didn’t appear for his morning coffee.
Slovak says it appears the husband shot his wife, then himself. A handgun was found in his hand.
She says nobody at Whitley Place reported hearing gunshots in the couple’s room at the end of a hallway. Both were found in bed.
A message left with the assisted living facility wasn’t immediately returned.
