OVILLA, Texas (AP) — Parts of North Texas have been shaken by a minor earthquake.
The U.S. Geological Survey reports the 2.4 magnitude earthquake happened at 8:37 a.m. CDT Wednesday. The quake was centered just west of Ovilla (oh-VIL’-uh), about 20 miles south of Dallas.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Department had no immediate reports of anyone hurt or damage from the earthquake.
Ovilla is a town of about 3,500.
