Police: 2 injured in Arlington crash caused by racers

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Police say three cars that were racing on a North Texas freeway caused an accident that injured at least two people.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports (http://bit.ly/2aDIrkC ) the accident happened around 6 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 20.

Arlington police spokeswoman Sgt. VaNessa Harrison called the accident “a chaotic scene.”

She says two of the three cars that were racing crashed with three vehicles that were not racing. The third racer’s car was not damaged in the accident.

Harrison says two of those injured were hospitalized and one of these people was not involved in the racing. The condition of those injured was not immediately known.

The accident closed down all eastbound lanes of the freeway for about four hours Saturday night.

Police continue investigating the accident.
