It’s runoff day as Goldman, O’Shea vie for congressional nomination

Today is runoff day as Republican voters choose their party’s nominee to succeed retiring U.S. Rep. Kay Granger. Voting locations are open until 7 p.m.

The runoff pits District 97 state Rep. Craig Goldman against Fort Worth businessman John O’Shea with the winner taking on Democrat Trey J. Hunt in November.

Goldman finished first in a five-candidate primary March 5 but fell short of the 50-percent of the vote needed to avoid a runoff. O’Shea finished second.

Granger, a former Fort Worth mayor who has served as District 12 congressional representative since 1997, announced last November she would not seek reelection.
