Southlake man, ex-executive with Service King, gets prison for embezzlement

New $100 bill

DALLAS (AP) — An ex-chief financial officer for Dallas-based Service King Collision Repair Centers must serve three years in prison and repay nearly $2.5 in embezzled funds.

Daniel L. Mangini of Southlake was sentenced Monday after being convicted of mail fraud in what federal investigators say was a theft scheme since 2006.

Prosecutors in Dallas say the 61-year-old Mangini was also the personal certified public accountant for Service King owner Edward Lennox.

Investigators say Mangini had access to the owner’s accounting system and printed or wrote unauthorized checks to himself, then mailed the wrongful funds to creditors.
