Swearingin promoted to assistant chief at FWPD

Deputy Chief Julie Swearingin has been promoted to assistant chief by Fort Worth Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald.

“During my time as chief, Assistant Chief Swearingin demonstrated a consistent record of dedication and service to the city and has been a valuable part of the FWPD management team,” Fitzgerald said. “Julie’s passion, experience and core competencies make me extremely confident the units under her command will continue to excel and become models for other similar-sized agencies as we move forward.”

Swearingin will be assigned to the Finance and Administrative Bureau with responsibility for operational command and administrative support command.

Assistant Chief Charlie Ramirez will assume responsibility for the Support Bureau, which includes tactical command as well as investigative and support command.
