Tarrant County College has announced two public forums for students, faculty and the community to meet two finalists for the district’s next chancellor, who would succeed former chancellor Erma C. Johnson Hadley, who passed away in 2015.
Chancellor is the top administrative leadership post at the college, the nation’s 12th largest institution of higher education.
After a national search, the two finalists were announced at the May 19 district board meeting. They are Eugene V. Giovannini, Ed.D., founding president of Maricopa Corporate College in Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Barbara Kavalier, Ph.D., district president at Navarro College in Corsicana.
The board is expected to name the sole finalist for chancellor at a special board meeting on June 9. Following a 21-day period, as outlined by Texas Education Code, the appointment as chancellor will be official.
