AUSTIN – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) Fen. 15 approved financial assistance in the amount of $5,456,300, consisting of a $4,650,000 loan and $806,300 in loan forgiveness, from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to Arlington.
The city will use the assistance to finance construction costs associated with a wastewater system improvement project, TWDB said in a news release.
Arlington could save approximately $800,000 over the life of the loan, in addition to the loan forgiveness.
The city intends to replace approximately 4,000 linear feet of pipeline at the Lake Arlington Golf Course. In addition, it will replace 2,500 linear feet of pipeline at five creek locations throughout the city.
The board also approved $1,595,800, consisting of a $1,360,000 loan and $235,800 in loan forgiveness, from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to Hurst.
The board said in a news release that Hurst will use the assistance to finance construction costs associated with a wastewater system improvement project and could save approximately $238,000 over the life of the loan, in addition to the loan forgiveness.
Hurst intends to replace approximately 2,700 linear feet of pipeline between State Highway 10 and Redbud Drive.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources.
The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects, the agency said in the news release.
