Texas woman found guilty in plot to kill ex’s new girlfriend

DALLAS (AP) — A woman accused of orchestrating the 2015 Dallas slaying of a woman dating her ex-boyfriend has been found guilty.

A jury Friday found 36-year-old Brenda Delgado guilty of capital murder. She received an automatic sentence of life without the possibility of parole.

Kendra Hatcher, a pediatric dentist, was fatally shot in her apartment building’s parking garage. Prosecutors say Delgado paid Kristopher Love and Crystal Cortes to kill Hatcher.

Love was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death. Cortes, the suspected getaway driver, pleaded guilty to murder, striking a deal for a 35-year sentence if she testified against Love and Delgado.
