Tip leads to Texas 10 Most Wanted sex offender in Houston

HOUSTON (AP) — A tip has led to the Houston arrest of a man on the Texas 10 Most Wanted sex offenders list who had been on the run for two years.

The Texas Department of Public Safety on Wednesday announced the arrest of 54-year-old Anthony Fitzgerald Turner. DPS officials say Turner was captured Sunday in northeast Houston after being sought for parole violation and failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

Records show Turner had been wanted since June 2016 when he fled from his last known address in Houston. He has convictions for aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and burglary in cases in Galveston County and the Houston area.

A reward of up to $3,000 will be paid to the tipster as part of Texas Crime Stoppers .
