Woman found dead after man under protective order shot dead in Watauga

WATAUGA, Texas (AP) — Police in a Fort Worth suburb shot a shotgun-wielding man dead outside a house, then found dead inside a woman who had a protective order against the man.

Watauga police Lt. David Babcock said the adult daughter of the woman called police about 10:30 a.m. Monday to report seeing the man inside the woman’s house in violation of the order. When officers arrived and confronted the man from the doorway, he reached for a shotgun and pointed it at officers. Babcock says both officers opened fire, killing the man.

Officers then moved deeper into the house and found the woman’s body.

The identities of the man and woman and whether they had a relationship with each other haven’t been disclosed.
